Annotation
The environmental conditions experienced during development profoundly affect health and physiology in adult life. Studies in Drosophila have shown that early developmental factors (e.g. developmental temperature, dietary composition) have significant long-term consequences for adult physiology and various fitness-related traits such as lifespan, reproduction or stress tolerance. The underlying mechanism of these effects, however, are not fully understood. The aim of the study is to use the model organism Drosophila to examine the underlying mechanism of the long-term effects of developmental conditions on adult physiology.
