Annotation
The topic is focused on the preparation of REBCO (REBCO means the compound REBa2Cu3O7, where RE is Y or rare earth) massive monocrystalline superconductors (MMS) by single-direction melt-growth (SDMG) from a large-area seed and the study of their microstructure and superconducting properties. The SDMG technology was only recently developed [1] and represents a significant advance in the preparation of REBCO MMS for practical applications, as it enables the preparation of large-sized crystals with complicated geometry.
The growth of massive REBCO crystals, structural analysis and measurement of macroscopic superconducting properties will be carried out at the facilities of the Materials Physics Department of the ÚEF using methods of crucibleless crystal growth, X-ray diffraction, optical and electron microscopy, measurement of the captured magnetic field and levitation force at 77 K. Magnetization measurements will be carried out at the facilities UEF SAS.
