Annotation
Sterols are essential membrane lipids that organisms either synthesize or utilize from the environment. Different organisms prefer specific sterol molecules, thus it is requisite to discriminate between the structures so that incompatible sterols are excluded from membranes. Using the model organism S. cerevisiae, we are looking for mechanisms monitoring the quality of sterols in cells.
