Rizza Kaye C. Cases is a research fellow at the Institute for Sociology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences and affiliate researcher at Centre of Migration Research of the University of Warsaw. She obtained her PhD in Sociology and Social Research from the University of Trento, Italy in 2018. While her previous works centred on Filipino migrants working in the care sectors of New York and London, her current research projects examine Filipino migration in Central and Eastern Europe. She is the principal investigator of the NextGenerationEU-funded research project Recruitment, context of reception, and integration of third country nationals in Central and Eastern Europe: The case of Filipino migrant workers in Czech Republic and Slovakia (MIGWORKCEE).
As an affiliate of the Centre of Migration Research at the University of Warsaw, she is part of the Polish team working on the EU-funded Protecting Irregular Migrants in Europe: Institutions, Interests and Policies (PRIME) project. She is also one of lead collaborators for the ERC-funded Reintegrate Project in the Philippines, hosted by the University of Amsterdam at the Department of Political Science, Amsterdam Institute for Social Science Research (AISSR).
