Patrik Gažo is a researcher at the Institute for Sociology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences (SAV) and the Central European Labor Studies Institute (CELSI). He received his PhD in environmental studies from Masaryk University, where he focused on just transition in the automotive industry.
His research focuses on the social and labor consequences of green and technological transformation in industry, particularly in the context of the automotive sector and global value chains. He analyzes the transformations of industrial work, qualifications, and power relations in relation to electrification, sustainable production, and industrial policy. He pays particular attention to the tension between environmental goals and workers' interests and its significance for socially sustainable solutions to the climate crisis.
