Marianna Mrva is a research fellow and scientific secretary at the Institute for Sociology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, public research institution. Her research focuses primarily on social trust, social cohesion, and belief in conspiracy theories. She is the author of the monograph The Phenomenon of Social Trust in Slovakia (2022), as well as numerous chapters in edited volumes and scholarly journal articles. Between 2023 and 2025, she served as the coordinator of the Slovak part of the CHANCE project entitled REDACT – Researching Europe, Digitalisation and Conspiracy Theories. Since 2026, she has been the principal investigator of the VEGA project Social Cohesion in a Changing World: Searching for Shared Values and Attitudes in an Era of Digital, Environmental, and Demographic Change. Since 2024, she has also served as Vice-Chair of the Slovak Sociological Association at the Slovak Academy of Sciences.
