About article:
Economic geography includes not only the geography of production but also that o£ the consumption of the goods produced. That is why the regional problem of socialist construction viz. the gradual levelling of economic standard should be examined from the geographical point of view as well. Basing his study on factors such as employment in industry, density of industrial concerns, employment in agriculture, density of population, extent of urbanisation, height of monetary income of the inhabitants and turn over in retail trade the author has classified districts into those that may be said to have achieved a good standard of development and those that have not yet reached that standard. As a result of socialist industrialisation the latter are getting to be fewer in number (21,4 % of all the districts) and they further recieve extraordinary attention.
