Annotation
The project will combine bacterial genetics, cell biology, and molecular biology approaches with microscopy and selected biochemical assays. By perturbing various DNA structures genetically or chemically, the student will analyze cellular responses and identify pathways that are sensitive to DNA structural changes. The work will provide insight into how alternative DNA structures contribute to bacterial physiology and adaptation and may reveal novel principles of genome regulation in prokaryotes.
