Pb-Zn mineralizations in Mesozoic carbonates of the Western Carpathians represent sub-economic deposits in terms of tonnage. However, they constitute a poorly explored type of mineralization from mineralogical and genetic perspectives. A substantial portion of the research would target localities with currently unclear genesis, such as Poniky-Drienok or Ardovo. Concurrently, the study would focus on smaller occurrences, including Košice-Črmelská dolina-Diana, Pohorelská Maša-Lívius-Samuel, and Veľké Pole-Ján Nepomuk, to cover as many geotectonic units as possible. Mineralogical investigations would identify primary minerals, while fluid inclusion studies in sphalerite and associated gangue minerals would characterize the ore-forming fluids. The age of mineralization would be determined by U-Pb dating of galena. Sulfur, oxygen, and carbon isotope analyses would elucidate the sources of these elements. In-situ LA-ICP-MS would be employed to investigate trace element concentrations in primary minerals.
