Annotation
The doctoral thesis will first examine medieval notational systems of Gregorian chant preserved in manuscripts of Moravian provenance (they originated or were used in the territory of Moravia). On the basis of their analysis a typology will be constructed and subsequently, within the limits imposed by the possibilities of determining the sources‘ provenance and dating, confronted with the contemporary network of ecclesiastical institutions active in the region. The resulting picture will then be compared with the situation in the area of present-day Slovakia.
