Annotation
The work should focus on identifying the basic principles of the translation approach, the relationship to the Latin Vulgate as the source text, as well as taking into account the linguistic, theological and pastoral requirements of the time. The research should focus on a comparative analysis of selected biblical books in comparison with the Latin original and other contemporary translations, especially Czech and Polish. Methodologically, the work should use the tools of historical translation studies, textual criticism and linguistic analysis. Special attention should be paid to lexical, syntactic and stylistic solutions that reflect the conscious translation intention and cultural context. The contribution of the work lies in the systematic evaluation of the translation strategy of the Camaldolese Bible as a specific model of biblical translation during the period of the formation of the Slovak literary language. The results will contribute to a deeper understanding of the history of Slovak biblical translation, the history of the Slovak language and the cultural history of the early modern period.
