Annotation
The proposed PhD topic is focused on the evaluation the interrelationships between ecosystem services (supportive, indifferent and threatening) and the assessment of conflicts arising from their use in the LTSER site Trnava. The study area includes the Trnava district, which consists of 44 rural settlements and 1 urban settlement. It represents an agricultural-industrial region. The work will consist of:
1/ assessment of the potential of the area in terms of providing ecosystem services (ES) relevant to the given area
2/ assessment of the current state of use of ES potential
3/ assessment of conflicts arising from the use of ES
4/ proposal of measures for the effective use of ES in the given area
The methodological procedure will consist of methods focused on the assessment of ecosystem services and conflicts of interest in the GIS environment. A participatory approach will also be applied. There is sufficient data and databases within the area that will be available for processing the work, as socio-ecological research has been carried out here for 40 years.
