Annotation
Lipid droplets are depot organelles known for storing energy or membrane lipids. In our laboratory, we investigate another intriguing function of these organelles: the sequestration of toxic compounds. Our primary focus is on atypical, potentially harmful sterols that accumulate in cells during antifungal treatment. We aim to uncover the answer to the question: "How does a cell recognize a harmful lipid?"
