Annotation
Yeasts of the genus Candida are able to remodel their cell wall in response to environmental conditions to evade host defense mechanisms and induce infection. However, the role of the produced extracellular vesicles (EVs) in modulating the immune response is not well understood. The main goal of the project is to characterize the immunobiological efficacy and immunotoxicological properties of Candida EVs based on their composition and biological activities of their compartments representing an innovative approach to characterize their effector functions.
