Annotation
Despite the fact that folk tales are among the oldest literary genres, their analysis and interpretation – especially in the recent period – has not been in Slovakia in the focus of literary studies or ethnography/cultural anthropology. On the contrary, this was the case at the time of the national revivals, at the time of the romanticising approach to this genre, which brought with it their collection, recording and subsequent interpretation. Today it is also possible to look at fairy tales as (not only) literary phenomena with different forms, structures and functions (Propp), origins (folk vs. artificial, Marčok, etc.), addressees, or perceptions (Piroščáková/Pácalová, Andričíková). Thus, in the context of contemporary reflections on the topic, the analytical-interpretive principle will be dominant, with a confrontational emphasis in relation to the traditions of individual cultural spaces
