Annotation
Metabolic changes associated with diabetes are accompanied by disorders of the cardiovascular system and vascular function, such as hypertension and endothelial dysfunction. Previous studies have focused primarily on the study of these disorders in males, but reproductive status, especially the development of menopause in females, may also play a significant role. The aim of the PhD thesis will be to monitor the influence of gender and reproductive status (menopause) on vasoactive regulatory mechanisms and the importance of individual signaling pathways in an animal model of type 2 diabetes. At the same time, the possible beneficial effect of administering a selected flavonoid in reducing the risk of developing cardiovascular complications will be investigated within the framework of the work.
