| Annotation: | The aim of the project is to verify hypotheses appearing in the literature on the subject of populism and to indicate the main causes of the “populist turn”, taking into account the historical and cultural context of both countries. An attempt will be made to explain the evolution of contemporary party systems in Poland and Slovakia and to show the relationship between macro-level civilisational and cultural transformations (globalisation, migration, multiculturalism, the 4th industrial revolution) and changes occurring in the structure of political conflicts and social cleavages. The identification of the main social divisions and new lines of political conflicts may help to better understand the social dynamics of modern societies. project is to undertake a comparative analysis of new socio-political cleavages based on an analysis of populist parties in two countries: Poland and Slovakia. |
