Annotation
In this dissertation project, we will investigate the neurobiological and cognitive determinants that underpin the ability to search for information in human memory. This is an important cognitive faculty that regulates higher mental activity and behavior, whereas impairments of this faculty are symptomatic for many neuropsychiatric conditions. To study the selected mnestic functions, we will utilize an interdisciplinary approach combining modern techniques of cognitive neuroscience and experimental psychology. The project will involve the non-invasive stimulation of the brain using (weak) electric current and the investigation of its effects on human memory functions.
