Theoretical Concepts on Magnetism in Solids

This symposium is jointly organised by the ESRF (European Synchrotron Radiation Facility) and the ILL to honour
the scientis Paolo Carra – the head of the ESRF Theory Group in the Joint ESRF-ILL Theory Group.
It will be held on 14-15 September, 2006 in Grenoble, France.
It aims to highlight the solid state physics field of „Magnetism in solids“. It will include presentations both from the theoretical and experimental sides, addressing some of the physics concepts of relevance to the magnetism in solids and will try to give a special emphasis to the important contributions deriving from the work of Paolo Carra.
