MELLON RESEARCH FELLOWSHIPS 2006-2007

The Albright Institute in Jerusalem, the oldest American research center in the Middle East, provides a unique research environment for

50 doctoral and post-doctoral students and scholars in ancient Near Eastern studies from more than 20 countries, including members of the local Israeli and Palestinian academic communities.

The Mellon Fellowships are for post-doctoral candidates pursuing research in ancient Near Eastern studies, including the fields of archaeology, anthropology, art history, Bible, epigraphy, historical geography, history, language, literature,philology and religion or related disciplines from pre-history through the early Islamic period.

These fellowships, which are open to Bulgarian, Czech, Estonian, Hungarian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Polish, Romanian, and Slovak scholars provide $34,500 for three awards of $11,500 each for three months.
