8th International Symposium will be held in Vienna, Austria, from 24-28 April 2007.

The aim of LPM 2007 is to provide a forum for discussion on the fundamental aspects of
laser/material interaction,
the state of the art of laser materials processing and
in the germination of next-generation ideas that arises from collaborating scientists, end users and laser manufacturers.
One special session will be jointly organized with the
3rd European Conference on Applications of Femtosecond Lasers in Materials Science - FemtoMat 2007.
The LPM2007 Proceedings will be published on line. We extend a welcome and hope that you will join us at LPM2007.
I would encourage colleagues to submit their abstract by January 7, 2007, and register online (http://cms.univie.ac.at/lpm2007/) for this event and come to Vienna where they will be assured of a warm Austrian welcome.
