EuroBioFund: ESF launches a new strategic instrument with support from the European Commission
EuroBioFund is an ambitious initiative to help address future life science challenges in Europe. The new approach taken by EuroBioFund centres on an annual conference, EuroBioForum, which will bring together funders and researchers from the life sciences community. Call for Expressions of Interest for the first EuroBioForum (Helsinki, 14-15, December 2006) is now open. Deadline extended to Monday 11 September, Midnight CET

EARTH scientific programme - Call for Short Visit Grants 2007
The EARTH (Early Agricultural Remnants and Technical Heritage, the dynamics of non-industrial agriculture: 8,000 years of resilience and innovation) programme provides funding for a small number of short visits to participate in EARTH meetings or to visit field areas, field projects, laboratories, institutions and archives associated with members of the EARTH Programme. Deadline for Applications: 2 October 2006 at 24:00 CET

The ESF is pleased to announce its annual Call for Proposals for new Scientific Programmes. European Forum on Nanosciences - A Converging Approach Across Disciplines - 19/20 October 2006
Nanosciences are exploring phenomena on the “nanometric” scale and thus coming close to atomic and molecular dimensions, where our understanding gained on the “macro” scale, no longer holds. The new scientific phenomena nanosciences deal with give rise to novel applications. The “European Forum on Nanosciences” aims to explore the wide range of new possibilities, underlining the international and interdisciplinary character of this field.
