O článku:
The paper analyses the origin and significant properties of extreme geomorphic processes in karst relief. Criteria for delimitation of territory threatened by the above-mentioned processes are set leaning on the recognition of the surface of karst by the methods of geomorphic research and the particular developmental stage of underground cave systems by the methods of speleological research. Causes of origin and acceleration of the onset of extreme geomorphic processes are identified. Attention is paid to forms of collapse of cave-ceilings provoked by natural gravitational processes and to collapses of the karst surface provoked by anthropic activity, gravitational collapse of blocks in high mountains, debris avalanches, and flooding of cave systems, which occurred in the karst of the Western Carpathians
