The subject of this article is the development of the middle Váh valley in young Pleistocene. The authors follow the development of the compound terraces in the relation to the Quarternary tectonic and to the climatic oscillations. They consider stage-deepening of the middle Váh valley and the origin of the terraces in manifestation of the interference of the tectonic and climatic agents. Separate terraces are to be understand like a product of the dosed terrace-formative cycles. The authors place the lowest compound terraces stratigraphically and explain on the base of the analyse interglacial profile Kočkovská skala the caracter of the Eemian interglacial in the middle Váh valley.
