The author compares and discusses concepts of the detailed and outline geomorphological maps. The detailed geomorphological maps result from detailed field mapping of all of the landforms, including studies of their age and origin. The detailed geomorphological maps should inform of the relief’s character and of its evolution. The geomorphological outline maps are cartographic representations of our knowledge of the relief. These maps should inform of the genetic relief types, of the relief’s evolution and of its relation to the geological structure.
