O článku:
In the article the author explains the development of Communications in the territory of Slovakia and the neighbouring regions, starting with the Bronze Age, up to the beginning of the 19th century. He does so, above all, on the basis of the economic relations of the Carpathian basin with the Elbe and the Rhine basins, the existence of which may be ascertained in antiquity. He deals chiefly with the so-called Czech route (Via Bohemica) linking Prague with Buda, which led through Southern Slovakia and for more than 5 centuries (1250 – 1810) played the task of the highway between the Czech and the Hungarian empires. In the last paragraph the author informs the reader of the rise and development of postal Communications in Hungary, the cradle of which was also in Slovakia.
