The map of relative relief of the territory of Slovakia has been elaborated by the authors by the circular method on the scale 1 : 500,000. The relative reliefs are classified on the basis of the frequency curve into seven degrees (1. 0 – 30 m. rel, 2. 31 – 100 m. rel, 3. 101 – 180 m. rel, 4. 181 – 310 m. rel., 5. 311 – 470 m. rel., 6. 471 – 640 m. rel, 7. 641 m. and more), with which the basic types of relief of the, West Carpathian region stand in close connection. The authors study the relationship of relative relief to other elements of geographical land- scape and point out some aspects of utilizing the map of relative reliefs for the division into geographical regions.
