The author deals with the age o£ the river plain in the Southern part of the Turiec Basin in Slovakia. River plain in the Western Carpathians represents a pediment standing out in a form of not-wide strips along all major streams and reaching its classical development especially in basins. On the basis of waste material standing out in the river plain as well as of the river plain position regarding the oldest Pleistocene river accumulation in the area studied, the author supposes that the period of rise of this pediment may be spread even to the older phases of the Pleistocene Epoch, perhaps as far as Mindel.
