The East Slovakian lowland is a northern foreland of the Great Hungarian lowland in Czechoslovakia. More than the half of this lowland is formed by flood plains, represented by young alluvial soils. On these loess loams and colluvial loams, grey brown podzolic soils are mostly widespread, in a lesser degree brown soils and chernozems. Granulometrically, clay soils are prevailing in this lowland.
