The annual variation of precipitation in Czechoslovakia is cartographically represented by means of Schulze index and the relative amplitude of the annual precipitation period during the years 1901 – 1950. The causes of the geographic distribution of this variation are dealt with and on the examples of the stations Hurbanovo (Stará Ďala) and Spišská Nová Ves the differences between the regime of precipitation in Danube Lowland and in the hollows of Northern Slovakia are analysed in detail.
