The Breznian basin as a substidential area is filled with molasse and post-geosynclinal formations. Its combined structure is conditioned by the tectonic movements in the Pliocene and Pleistocene. From the geomorphological viewpoint two basic generations of forms are preserved in the basin: a) levelled surfaces preserved in relics and b) river terraces and periglacial cones. The morphology of basin and its detailed shapeness is caused by processes of slope shaping as well as by the depressional situation of basin.
