The processes of accelerated erosion in the drainage area of the Nitrica are conditioned and evoked by several natural and culturo-geographical factors, the configuration of which manifests itself especially in the distribution of erosive phenomena. The most expressive forms of gulley erosion have been developed on little resistant Mesozoic (dolomites, Keuper schists), Tertiary (conglomerates, gravels and clays), and Quaternary rocks (loess loams, gravels of alluvial formation), The influence of man has manifested itself in de- forestation of the basin and of the piedmnot sites of mountain ridges. Sheet wash and rill erosion manifest themselves especially on gray-brown podzolic soils and on brown forest soils.
