In this contribution, the disagreement between the opinions on the content of biogeography and zoogeography, and on their position in the system of Sciences, is pointed out. The necessity of the existence and development of zoogeography (geography of animals), as an analytical geographical discipline, is substantiated; its principal tasks are indicated and its relation to zoology is discussed.
