O článku:
In the present study, the author gives concisely his results of many years’ research work on underground waters in the environs of Bratislava, the Capital of Slovak Socialist Republic. As for the occurrence of underground waters and their connection with the hydrogeological environment, Bratislava has a very favourable geographic position. Large stocks of groundwater are mainly bound on the Danubian deposits of gravels and sands at the right and left sides of the Danube, on the Danubian isles, as well as on the fluvial sediments of the Morava and aqueous layers of the Subcarpathian depression, in the lowland of Záhorie. In the overall balance of groundwater stocks in the surroundings of Bratislava, in a Circuit of about 20 km, we may ascertain more than 10 000 l/s of utilizable water supplies. The quality of these waters is dissimilar, but in the majority of cases, especially along the riverside zone, they satisfy the requirements for drinking water.
