In the paper, a modified method of elaborating maps of vegetational degrees on the territory of Slovakia is described. On mapping, one starts from the reconstruction of plant associations on the level of unions and, on the given territory, seven vegetation degrees are distinguished. The characteristic of individual degrees is indicated by their above sea level altitudes, by the climatic and soil properties, the list of plant associations in the original vegetation and the description of secondary growths. The description of the map of vegetation degrees in the sheet Bratislava forms an independent part.
