The article contains a brief outline of problems concerning the changes in retail trade during the year. It deals in more details with fluctuations in the heigt of retail turnover by means of data for quarters of the year and months in Slovakia and its individual counties, as well as with differences occurring in the realized volume of sales, during the year, in the fundamental kinds of retail trade establishments.
