Význam a postavenie prognózovania v súčasnej geografii

The work deals with the spatial-temporal character of prognoses. In the work attention is paid to the temporalspatial character of prognoses dealing with the possibilities of applying methods of extrapolation, expert evaluations, balance equilibrium, modelling and technological innovations in geography. The importance of the short- and longterm prognoses, the realistic and hypothetical prognoses, as well as the importance of their multivariability are evaluated. The author points to the relationship of prognoses to the ideology and deals with the prognosis of the development of geography proper from the standpoint of the development of its paradigm and from the standpoint of the trend of methodological orientation and the orientation of new methods of research.
