The present contribution gives some new knowledge on the Quaternary tectonics of the hilly country of Hron and the Žitava valley. As it follows from the researches, the young tectonic movements had an expressive influence upon the Quaternary geological and morphological evolution of this territory. This territory is disturbed by a system of faults, along which it is splitted in partial blocks with differing characters and movement intensities.
