In his contribution the author takes notice of one of the biggest Yougoslavian islands from the tourism view point. He analyses the natural, cultural and historical conditions of Hvar for the development of its visits, he informs of the network of touristic equipment, of its place In the economy of the island and of the role of Czechs and Slovaks in the touristic activities on Hvar.
