An analysis of railway transports, in the economically most developed region of Slovakia, is the objects of this article. After characterizing the development of railway network, the author categorizes the different lines on the basis of their outputs, of the shares of the transport of persons and goods. He deals with the disposition of railway stations and stopping places which he divides, according to the movement of trains, into 5 categories. He also follows the transport of goods and persons according to the individual stations.
