O článku:
The territory of the Nízke Beskydy Mts. belongs to those morphological units of the Western Carpathians where slope movements and their resulting forms – block fields, landslides, earth currents etc. have a very high occurrence. In the presented study the author analyses their areal distribution in relation to the geological structure and morphology of the territory. It is widely known that the geological structure, particularly the lithologicofacial character of the strata is very important for the origin and development of landslides. The character of the relief, and especially the trend of Its development plays a considerably important role as well. The further factors to be mentioned are the climate (particularly precipitation conditions) and last but not least human interference with the natural environment. The study of he first two factors, namely the geological structure and the relief, and their relation from the viewpoint of origin and areal distribution of landslides have been the main purpose of the present paper.
