Ludomir Sawicki a jeho príspevok k počiatkom slovenskej geografie

In this study the author has submitted a short profile of the life of the excellent Polish geographer and geoloigist L. Sawicki on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of his death. Besides, the author evaluates also its concepts and methods related to this former investigation and scientific Work. Further, he reminds and evaluates in short also his enormous merits related to the knowledge of Slovakia, about which he wrote extraordinarily valuable scientific works concerning both physical and economic geography as well as the geography of man. All of them went to world’s literature and are permanently cited. Besides, still in a great number of further works he States the territory of Slovakia and this is also a subject for him to choose examples to confirm several his own theories and concepts.
