The author deals with the problems of the influence of relief and of the orography of mountain range upon the structure and spatial differentiation of forest cover in western part of the Nízke Tatry Mountains. In the work, in relief he judges the influence of exposure and steepness of slope through climatic and soil conditions, concave and convex forms to geo- morphologic conditions. In the orography of mountain range he judges especially the position of the Nízke Tatry Mountains in the West Carpathians, which through climatic changes influences also the structure and differentiation of forest cover.
