Vokalický systém slovenských nárečí v Srbsku

Relying on the monograph of J. Štolc The Speech of Slovaks in Yugoslavia, which has become our methodological model and the main source of the study of selected issues, we present the results of our own field research conducted during the past years in the Slovak enclave in Serbia. In this paper, we focus on the vocal system of Slovak dialects in Serbia, by analyzing the sound recordings of linguistic expressions, made by autochthonous representatives of dialects of Slovak origin. By comparing the current results of the research with the findings of this linguist, we try to reveal the changes that have occurred in the structure of the studied dialects since the time of his research, as well as to find other features confirming the previous findings.
