Kras polostrova Jaffna na Srí Lanke

The work is a result of karst research of the peninsula Jaffna on Sri Lanka realized on the occasion of the IInd Slovak Speleologico-Diving Expedition India ’77. It deals with surface and underground karst forms not only from the viewpoint of their forms, but also from that of genesis. The central problem to which most attention is paid are the karst waters and their relation to salt sea water. In dependence on the relations of vertical and horizontal corrosion in some karst forms, but also in dependence on the character of karst hydrography it proves existence of an older karst at present submerged and situated in the zone of salt sea and brackish water.
