Cartography and geography have developed jointly for centuries along, but at present these disciplines have been differentiated considerably from one another as well as developed to a measure so that they have only a part of problems Jointed. The cartographical findings means and representation methods do not serve geography only more, but many further social activities. Cartography has been formed as a self-contained scientific discipline, but it does not mean that it has interrupted all the historical and present links to geography. On the contrary, it gathers many stimulations and in turn many cartographical findings acquired in other connections are interesting and stimulating for geography. An example of common interest of geographers and cartographers lies in the problems of cartographical language, which has been developed intensively in the last decade. The aim of researches in this sphere is giving to the hands of all the creators of maps a comprehensive, reliable and well-manageable system, because the need of creating maps more and more complicated is and also will be very topic further on.
