Význam Belovho diela Notttia Hungariae novae hisiorico geographica pre výskum osídlenia Slovenska

The study analyzes the local historicogeographical work Notitia hungariae novae historico geographica by the significant savant Matej Bel, from the 1st half of the 18th century with reference to the settlement in Slovakia. The paper examines how many settlements are found in it and thus to what measure the settlement network had been catched, what kinds of settlements distinguished, which of them considered for royal towns and townlets, whether it affords data for a quantitative classification of settlements and also for the study of their position and shape. At last it follows the development of settlement and evaluates the Notitia as a historic source.
