O článku:
Czech Highlands represent the eastern part of the West-European Plat- form of the Paleozoic age. The platform was planated several times during Paleozoic, Mesozoic and Tertiary periods. During the neotectonic period (started in the Oligocene) the platform was divided into blocks. Block structure of the Hrubý Jeseník Mountains is studied in detail (Map 1), Very important for the explanation of present-day landscape were cryogenic processes during cold phases of the Plelstocene. Hrubý Jeseník Mts. can be used as a model area for the explanation of the morphogenesis of the West-European Platform.
