O článku:
Human impact on the ecosystem of the arid zone of North Africa also has its effects on the processes of the arid morphodynamic system. In the Mediterranean zone human activities since antique times have accelerated slope erosion and led to a redeposition of sediments in the valleys. In the North African steppes clearing of the grass cover resulted in increasing aeolian processes, e. g. deflation and formation of nebkas. In the arid Sahara the natural processes occurring under an arid climate predominate even under human impact. The fluvial and aeolian erosional system of the Sahelian zone is marked by reinforced aeolian processes under human influence. The boundaries between naturally and anthropogenically controlled processes are not always clear, in spite of the fact that human impact has significant morphodynamic effect.
