The author presents basic information of the 25th International Geographical Congress held in Paris as well as of undertakings associated with the Congress (working sessions and symposia of both commissions and working groups, excursions, exhibitions of geographical literature etc.) bound to 5 Alpine countries. The author took part at the Congress as leader of the Czechoslovak delegacy. In his reports the author presents information of the most significant conclusions at the 16th General Assembly of the IGU.
